CBC Music Presents: The Beetle roadtrip sessions with Grant Lawrence!

Starting on the West Coast in late May, CBC Radio 3 host Grant Lawrence (wearing the official CBC X Granted sweater) will jump behind the wheel of a brand new 2013 Volkswagen Beetle Fender Edition. Grant will roar across the country, from Vancouver to Toronto, interviewing and recording performances by many of your favourite bands at every stop along the way.

Each performance will be posted here on CBC Music, and a weekly best-of video highlight reel from the trip will air on George Stroumboulopoulos Tonight on CBC television. Grant will also check in daily from the road on CBC Radio 3.

During what promises to be a thoroughly rockin' road trip, you'll have a chance to meet Grant for brunch in each city along the way, and have a chance to win a Fender guitar signed by every band and artist that crosses Grant's path on this epic voyage. Details to be announced soon.

What bands between Vancouver and Montreal do you think Grant Lawrence should meet up with? What are your favourite Canadian road trip anthems? What are the can't-miss roadside attractions between Vancouver and Toronto on the Trans-Canada Highway?

...DEVIN MORROW of Winnipeg! Congratulations!

Everywhere Grant Lawrence of the CBC Radio 3 went with his CBC sweater, people wanted to know where they could get one. We don't have the rights to sell one, so we decided to have a sweater contest give-away. Every week for the last seven months, people had the chance to submit their names into Grant's radio show and just last week it was announced!

Granted Contest Winner!!

We would like to thank all of our contestants for entering our "What I don't take for Granted" contest. We received an overwhelming amount of entries, unfortunately could only choose one.

Congratulations to Ms. G Bean of Vancouver B.C. for your answer! You have just won one of our lap warmers!

This answer was chosen as we felt that it was something that we could all relate to at some point in our lives.

Ms. G Bean wrote:

What I don't take for Granted:

I try not to take my friends for "Granted". Friends are the staple of our lives, really they are the bread and butter of our lives and they help shape who we are as people. My friends make up my family unit. Friends are the people that you can count on to answer your calls at any hour of the day, those who listen to us ramble endlessly over our latest breakup, career decision, financial troubles. Rather than be jealous over our successes they are sincerely happy for our successes and support our decisions regardless if they think it is right. Friends tell you not what you want to hear, but what you NEED to hear.

The friends that make up my family live all over the map, we rarely see each other, however; when we do, or simply talk on the phone, we pick up where we left off- our bond is so strong that things change, but it doesn't really change. We grow separately as individuals and at the end of the day, we know that the relationship we have is unchanged and we are always there for each other.

Often, we get busy with day to day chaos, from work-home-pets-children, and we do at some point take everything for "Granted". I always try to ensure that I never take my friends for "Granted" because with out my friends, I would not be the wonderful person I am today. They have helped shaped who I have become and I know that my life would not be complete without the 5 outstanding people I consider to be my friends and without them, I know that I wouldn't be where I am today.

David Suzuki Autographed Limited Sweater!!

Keep your house, cabin, loft, or car warm, but making it look cool! Win a FREE lap warmer!

We know, we know... you're wondering why anyone would want a wool blanket at this time of year? The answer is – because it’s FREE! And, you think a season in advance.

Here’s how the contest works: Lately, there's been a lot of negative banter being fed to people around the world, and we’re tired of hearing about it everywhere we go. Granted wants to bring some much-needed positivity into the atmosphere by offering a place for you to tell us what you’ve realized you will never take for granted. Just e-mail us a sentence or photo, or both, telling us what you don't take for granted to mail@grantedclothing.com. Contest ends at the end of this month.

For more information on these 100 percent sustainable wool, machine-knitted lap warmers, visit here.

Sign-up for our blog or tweets because we plan on giving something away every month.
