Studio Ghibli began designing adult fashion using high quality materials under their new “GBL” clothing label. Aimed at adult fans of Ghibli anime films.
These hand knit sweaters were produced for the snowboard athletes village wear. Once produced they were taken in a high definition photograph and emulsified onto the fabric of the jacket to give off a sweater like look. These technical jackets will be worn during the actual competitions.

My style is not really defined, it is a mix between work wear, military and vintage. Utility clothing in all these spans. I like to be able to mix the inspirations, materials, colors to create something more accomplished.
My grandfather was a farmer and I inherited some of his clothes, his hunting jacket is the trigger I think;) I really like to return to the roots of garments, What they convey in the past, A return to true values.
"I love the blues for this model, a good basic item for several of my outfits. The wool is really beautiful, I like this dry and raw side of the material. The raglan sleeves gives it a much more current look that I like well, the difference in gauge and knitting on the collar gives a slightly more rustic side (the perfect balance). The double zipper closure is good and essential for me on this kind of sweater".

Aubrey, a former fashion consultant and store owner of Danali purchased a small menswear shop downtown, at the age of 23. Since then, the store has moved locations and Danali is now in their fifteenth year on one of the busiest street corners in Winnipeg.
Along with Aubrey's daughter and son that have worked alongside him for the past 7 years they have a core of hardworking colleagues. Jon, their denim wizard who has been at the shop for over 21 years, Simmie, their lovely manager who has been there over 9 years) and an additional incredible crew of about 10 floor staff.
Danali pride themselves in providing the best level of customer experience there city has to offer. Relationships remain more important than transactions and they encourage a 'no pressure' sales atmosphere. The integrity and dedication that Aubrey and his crew continues to have for the store is evident and is what keeps people coming back again and again.

Rocketing into outer space and floating in zero gravity; my childhood dream to one day become an astronaut. I dug through some old photos of my early years and used this as inspiration for Granted’s new NASA sweater. It proved a difficult task at first, as there were so many events and icons to draw from throughout the decades. We landed on the now retired “worm” logo, a vivid representation of my growing up in the 80s. It’s playful, it’s fun, it has an astronaut, rockets and retro gradients all vibrantly mixed into a spacey milky way of timeless knitting craft. The NASA sweater has landed.

Makers of Canadian Heritage Sweaters
Granted Sweater Company was established in 1978 in Vancouver, BC, Canada. Now in its second generation, the family business continues to design and produce locally, using only domestic wool yarn.
Due to the lengthy process of hand-knitting, production is limited. However, this allows for an attention to detail and quality that has become synonymous with the brand. All knitters are local and carefully selected for consistent craftsmanship.
Manufacturing in Canada has its challenges, especially with the current trend of fast fashion produced overseas. Fortunately, there is a growing appreciation for long lasting, hand made and sustainable items. These classic designs are always in fashion and so durable that they have a lifetime of wear.

FROM WOOL TO YARN
Wool is gathered from across Canada and processed in a mill located in New Brunswick, Canada. There the wool is sorted, scoured, dyed, carded and spun.
Since the beginning, our sweaters have always been made from 100% wool. This amazing natural fibre is sustainable, durable, breathable, body temperature regulating and insulating even when wet.
The free roaming sheep are ethically treated. Sheep are unharmed during the shearing process.
Raw stock scouring. Wool is washed to remove dirt, oil and feed.

Traditional Knitting Methods, Timeless Designs
Each piece is authentic and rich in craftsmanship. The designs are contemporary but the knitting methods applied are centuries old. Granted’s hand-knit sweaters, like a favourite pair of jeans or a genuine leather wallet, soften and gain character over time.
In studio, yarn is weighed and picked up by a knitter who knits from the comfort of their home.
Each stitch is carefully knit by hand. A sweater can take up to 20 - 25 hours of knitting.
In our studio each zipper pull is made with durable Canadian maple wood then hand branded with a “g” logo.
