From the archives...

We uncovered some posters from our archives while sorting out one of our warehouses. Circa 1985-1988.

Our styles and designs may have changed but our knitting methods have not. We are proud to say we still produce each of our knit garments by hand one row/stitch at a time.

What do you think of these classic designs?

-Cable knit zip up sweater

-Two tone varsity zip up sweater

-Striped rugby pullover sweater

Store Feature: Quark Expeditions

Since 1991, Quark Expeditions has specialized in expedition cruising to the Arctic and Antarctica, in ships with ice-strengthened hulls or in icebreakers. Polar travelers will enjoy unparalleled technical expertise, leadership and passion for expedition trips to the Arctic and Antarctica.

Quark Expedition Polar Adventure Ships are platforms for optional sea-kayaking, camping, mountaineering and cross-country skiing. Their small size enables them to sail channels and bays through which our icebreakers cannot sail. The ability to get close to landscapes and wildlife make these vessels extraordinary base camps for photographers.

Many of our polar themed items can now be found at the Quark Expedition shops on board.

For more information on how you can be a part of a Quark Expedition here.

Kyoko Higa, our new creative contributor!

Please welcome Kyoko Higa, lead designer at Celsia Floral.  She will be assisting our brand with her creative talents bringing in a refreshing new perspective on designs and trends.

"I am merely a flower lover before a designer. I enjoy their natural simplicity and duplicity. Their ability to grow through the cracks of our modern industrial world and give us pause, in awe of their simple but complex beauty."

"The seemingly imperfect nature of flowers inspire me to tell stories.
Through the use of flora's colours, textures and shapes I'd like to evoke feelings and impart intimate messages of love and loss...of living. A flower's individual parts: petals, sepals, filaments, anthers and leaves give each stem a unique personality. My job is to highlight their personality. I tend to demolish the rules of traditional floral design while keeping it intact."

"As a floral designer, I'd like to continue suggesting my perspective of aesthetics of nature and apply it to what is of the moment and also, timeless. Duplicity." Kyoko.

6 THINGS TO KNOW ABOUT A GRANTED SWEATER

It is important at Granted for us to know how our products are made and where the materials come from. We don't use clever marketing techniques to mask the truth, we use only simple materials and old fashion knitting methods to make our garment from start to finish.

1) All made in Vancouver, Canada. Established in 1978.

2) The design and fit are timeless. Quite often our garments are passed down from one generation to the next.

3) We use only 100% pure new wool, a sustainable and ethical fibre from free range sheep.

4) Durability of knit and thickness of yarn make for the perfect outerwear sweater.

5) A distinctly Canadian Heritage classic.

6) Each sweater is made by hand and can take up to 25 hours of knitting.
