The Canadian Wildlife Federation (CWF) is a national not-for-profit charitable organization dedicated to ensuring an appreciation of our natural world and a lasting legacy of healthy wildlife and habitat. CWF is also a leader in animal conservation initiatives designed to help wildlife flourish, working collaboratively to ensure the conservation and health of pollinators like the bumble bee.

Did you know:

  • Bumblebees are particularly good at pollination. Their wings beat 130 times or more per second their large bodies vibrates flowers until they release pollen, which is called buzz pollination.
  • Two-thirds of the world's crop species depend on animals to transfer pollen between male and female flower parts
  • There are over 255 species of bumblebees
  • Bumblebees eat nectar and pollen made by flowers. The sugary nectar provides the bees with energy while the pollen provides them with protein.
  • Bees born in late summer are male bees, called drones, and future queen bees. Both leave the nest as soon as they are mature.
  • Many bumblebees are listed as endangered, vulnerable or near extinction.

  • How To Measure

Take an outerwear jacket that fits you well and lay it flat on a table as it is done here. Find a tape measure and note the following measurements:

A (BODY LENGTH) - measure from highest point of shoulder (hps) to bottom hem
B (CHEST) - go two inches below armpit and then measure across
C (SLEEVE LENGTH) - measure from centre back collar to sleeve cuff edge

    Please Note:
    * Because each sweater is knit by hand, finished measurements may vary slightly.
    * The measurements we list are actual sweater measurements and NOT body measurements.
    * If you're still unsure of your size, email us or phone us, 1.604.207.9392, and we'll be more than happy to assist you. Usually height and weight will help us determine a size.
