Saturday, super rad, sunny, spring, Seymour, snowboarding, session with Shota.
Ssssweeet!
This weekend the local ski hills were closed for the season but my friends and I decided to hike up Seymour and get some spring riding in. The day started off with weird weather. First there was sun, then clouds, then rain, and then to our surprise some snow! What was even more surprising was we had seen a bear. He was climbing trees and doing rad methods! We brought out our cameras and what we saw was amazing!
After our day on the hills we went home and looked through the photos. We soon realized the bear was just our friend Shota in our Bear mask sweater and retro hockey toque and mittens! Stupid us!
True West Coast Canadian style.

Our pixelated world…..

This video really struck a cord with me.
As I watched the video it brought back memories of my child hood, playing video games like most kids do. The pixelated world depicted in this video really shows how I see the world when thinking and designing our sweaters.
I hope you enjoy this amazing video by One More Productions and Patrick Jean.

Tegan or Sara?
Posted by Minphis | Filed under Media
A friend of ours recently sent us a photo of Tegan or Sara wearing our deer love toque!
We can’t see the tattoos or hairstyle in the picture so we have yet to confirm which sister it is.
For those who don’t know them, Tegan and Sara are a Canadian indie band led by identical twins Tegan Rain Quin and Sara Kiersten Quin (born in Calgary, Alberta). The band has released six studio albums since 1999, most recently Sainthood in 2009. They have toured with bands such as Neil Young and the Pretenders.
We’re huge fans of Tegan and Sara and often “rock out” to their songs in our office.
This is our current favorite song from Tegan and Sara.
Thank you very much Tegan or Sara!!!

How to be Canadian instantly!
Posted by Minphis | Filed under Non-Granted Designs, Random
I just found a funny little item the other day shopping. Unrelated to our sweaters but made me feel that this had some connection with our quirky Canadian lifestyle brand.
“Look and feel Canadian instantly!”
Life transforming breath spray!
I think many of our American friends were needing this to fit in after we won the hockey GOLD during the Olympics.
Sorry to rub it in again!
The back label states:
“You may have read about Canadians in books or watched documentaries about their country on TV, but you probably never imagined that you could be part of this alternative lifestyle……for less than the cost of a glass of beer.”

Granted sweater featured in a comic book!
Posted by Minphis | Filed under Media, Random
A unique feature was done with Granted in a comic by artist John Christmas.
The main character, Aquanaut Zero is based on the facial characteristics of one of the designers here at Granted. This story takes place deep in the waters of the ocean were there is tension with deep sea creatures. Aquanaut Zero battles against huge Octopus monsters that are taking over the base down below.
If you look carefully at some of the scenes they feature our very own Ainu Sweater . Wear one of these and feel like a super hero!
John Christmas is the Artist on BARACK THE BARBARIAN: THE FALL OF RED SARAH as well as providing cover artwork for the first issue of JERICHO: Season 3. He also provided artwork for The Pekar Project. You can see what else he’s up to here .
