Star Wars Sweater

Being a huge fan of the Star Wars movies, I was very excited to work on this design. I went with the famous forest battle scene between the Ewoks and the AT-ST walkers and used repeating trees throughout the sweater. I got the howling Ewok idea from the howling wolf t-shirts that I see everywhere these days.

Unfortunately, we can't put this sweater into production but are working to get in touch with the Star Wars brand to make it available for purchase soon.

For more information regarding this sweater or any other custom designs, email us at mail@grantedclothing.com.

The Official Vancouver Canucks Sweater

This sweater was produced for the Vancouver Canucks in celebration of their 40th anniversary. The sweater includes elements of their past jerseys - the retro V logo on both the back and sleeves, and their current hockey stick logo.

Available in October at the Canucks Team Store.

Skull Skates

From my teenage years, I've always looked up to this iconic, Canadian skate brand. Most brands jump on trends and fads not relating to their image. Skull Skates has always stayed true to their fans by keeping with what they believe in.

When the opportunity came across to create something with Skull Skates I felt more than honored. P.D., the owner, requested that we keep with a "classic" look. The first version has a very old-school appeal. On each front panel is a silhouette of a skateboarder carving it up in the layback position. The second version is a simple black sweater with the iconic Skull skates logo on the back.

Sitka - Men's

One early summer day, just back from a surf trip out in Oregon, I received an email from the head designer at Sitka. They were looking for a unique piece to add to their next autumn/winter line. I was excited to collaborate with this awesome, surf/lifestyle brand from Victoria, BC.

They requested a non-symmetrical design that complemented their brand. After a few meetings, we came up with a tree design that was similar to their signature Sitka logo and a howling wolf design for the back.

Sitka - Women's

A lighter grey for the female version of the sweater.

Warehouse - Check

The Japanese label, Warehouse is famous for their collaboration with the Lee jeans brand and their contemporary American work wear style. This collaboration incorporates their vintage tastes while keeping with the Granted design.

Warehouse - Border

This sweater was produced using a modern 4-tone stripe design. This simple design wraps around both sleeve and body. An eye catching base colour was chosen while keeping with a retro look.

Four Horsemen - Horse Skull Sweater

A horse skull image was sent over by one of the designers from the Four Horsmen label. At first glance we had to decline because the design was too complicated to do. After many simplified variations, we came up with something that the client was happy with. To this day, this is one of the nicest sweaters we have produced and are really happy with the end result.

Canucks (experimental)

This was another one-off design made for a friend who is a die hard Canucks fan. The design went viral and within a year of its release, a representative from the Canucks organization contacted us for an order. Watch out for the new Canucks sweater, going in stores in the fall of 2010.

Four Horsemen - The Apocalypse Sweater

For their in-house label, the designer at Four Horsemen requested a sweater using images of the bow, sword, scythes and scale - weapons used in the biblical story of the apocalypse.

CBC (experimental)

The idea for the CBC sweater came about as a birthday gift to a brother-in-law living in England. Knowing that the CBC programs were an integral part of his upbringing, he was thrilled to receive such nostalgia so far from home.

Like the David Suzuki sweater, the sweater was posted on our blog. We received many inquiries, however due to trademark and copyright laws for the CBC logo we were reluctant to actually produce this sweater for sale. After many attempts with contacting CBC we had not heard back from them and were just about ready to give up on this project.

One day, Grant Lawrence, a CBC Radio 3 DJ, had somehow noticed the sweater. He was going nuts about the unique item and provided us with great exposure on air. Again more and more people wanted to know how they could get their hands on one but to this day we have not received contact from the CBC. If any one can assist us with this one please contact us here.

David Suzuki Foundation

This was one of our first experiemental sweaters. We were curious to see how complicated knitting could get and learned that intarsia knitting or "picture knitting" has no limitations. The hurdle was finding a knitter with the patience and skill to assist us.

The complicated face of Mr. Suzuki was initially knit as a swatch (large knit square). A close friend of ours overheard this design idea and immediately requested that we turn it into a sweater. Days after posting a photo of the completed sweater and blogging about it, an employee at the David Suzuki Foundation contacted us. From there, a sweater was donated to the DSF, and after that a few more were auctioned off. This year we are proud to be including this official DSF sweater on our site with partial proceeds going to his foundation.
